Black Pool Mill, a Grade II* listed Georgian building in Narberth is now open as a heritage dining experience thanks to a landmark restoration project overseen by the team at Bluestone National Park Resort in Pembrokeshire, West Wales.
Black Pool Mill, which can trace its history back over ten centuries, now forms part of the resort’s dining portfolio, and thanks to the team at Plexus FS, the property now has a state-of-the-art fire safety and intruder alarm system.
“It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Bluestone, Bullock Consulting and Havenkey Ltd on this project,” said Paul Jones, Sales Consultant at Plexus FS, “and it was great to work on such a historic building.”
With work commencing in February of 2023, Paul and the team installed a Hochiki fire safety system that included 70+ Sensors covering all four floors, the basement as well as the annexe across the road.
Alongside the fire safety system, the Plexus team also installed a Texecom intruder alarm system with sensors across all entry and exit points, as well as communal areas.
“These systems are perfect for this type of venue,” said Paul, “as we were able to connect the fire safety system to both the Building Management System and the sound system, so when the fire alarm triggered, it cut out the music in the venue to alert people to the danger.”
What’s more, we were also able to connect both systems to the Bluestone Security Centre giving the team 24/7 coverage of The Mill as well as instantaneous alerts should something go wrong.” he summarised.
With both systems tested and commissioned in June of 2023, Plexus FS were on time and on budget for this historic venue which is having a new lease of life as one of the premiere restaurants in Pembrokeshire.
