We were delighted to assist Pobl Group on their recent project that redeveloped a former care home into temporary accommodation housing for young people and adults in a crisis.
Marsh House in Merthyr Tydfil underwent a £2.5m redevelopment, with £1m in funding support coming from the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns Capital Funding alongside support from Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council’s core capital funding.
The result was the creation of 11 units of supported youth homelessness accommodation, 22 units of temporary accommodation and a community hub drop-in facility.
The new centre will act as a homelessness assessment and triage centre, providing interventions for those requiring temporary accommodation in a crisis.
Working through our long-term partner Amberwell Engineering Services Ltd, with whom we have delivered multiple projects across South Wales over the last ten years, we installed a range of systems to help keep staff and residents safe including:
CCTV
Fire Safety
Intercom
Disabled Refuge Points
SALTO Access Control
“This was a fantastic project to be involved in,” said Ross Adams, managing director of Plexus FS. “Thanks to Amberwell Engineering for once again inviting us to assist with another landmark project and we are proud to play our part in keeping staff and residents of Pobl Group safe in Marsh House.”
