Fulton House is the main student life hub on Swansea University’s Singleton Campus offering catering and retail outlets, Harbwr Fulton social and eating space, JC’s Bar and more.
In 2023, we were involved in a full-circle, 6-week project that included the supply, installation and commissioning of a new fire safety system for the first-floor area.
This involved removing the 38 devices that formed the old system and the installation of 64 new devices, including:
- A new advanced fire panel with the capacity for future expansion
- A repeater panel, located at the front of the building which is connected to the Advanced Panel at the rear of the building – vital for emergency responders who may enter through the front of the building.
- Multiple electronic door-hold devices
- An interface that connects to the AV system, so it will automatically shut off when the fire alarm system triggers.
The system was signed off in September 2023.
Fulton Ground Floor Kitchens:
In a separate project in the same building, we were involved in the refurbishment of the ground-floor kitchen.
Working in partnership with the main contractor we assisted in the removal of the old system and supplied the following Hochiki equipment:
- 20 Optical Detectors
- 17 Heat Detectors
- 28 Sounder Beacons
- 3 Call Points
- 11 Multi Detectors
- 6 Interfaces
We also designed the new system for the main contractor to install and then safely commissioned it, ensuring it networked with the existing system in the building.
