After successfully completing similar projects at several of their UK sites,
our team was entrusted with ensuring the fire safety infrastructure at this historic London hotel meets the highest standards.
Project Overview
The Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel is a charming, 60-bedroom property located in the heart of London.
Spread across multiple floors, this elegant hotel required a robust, modern fire safety system to enhance guest and staff safety while maintaining the integrity of its historic architecture.
System Selection and Installation
Following a detailed site survey and extensive discussions with the in-house team, the EMS Firecell wireless fire detection system was selected as the optimal solution for the hotel. The installation process included:
Advanced MX5 4 Loop Fire Panel
To ensure a quick and efficient response in the event of an emergency, we installed the Advanced MX5 4 Loop Fire Panel in a central location – the hotel reception area. This placement allows for immediate access by hotel staff and emergency services.
Multiple Cluster Units
A total of 12 cluster units were installed strategically throughout the hotel, providing seamless communication between fire detection devices and the central panel.
Comprehensive Sensor Coverage
We installed 235 wireless sensor devices across all floors, including guest rooms, conference areas, kitchen facilities, and administrative offices, ensuring complete fire detection coverage.
Project Completion
The system underwent rigorous testing & commissioning and was fully operational by February 2025.
